I've attached a clipping from a New South Wales (Australia) newspaper - unfortunately its rather poor quality - that reports the recent capture of a Swordfish from the shore. The 'baby', that’s all it was, was 1.21 cm long and weighed 3.9kgs.
In parts of Australia, with access to deep water from cliffs, a select group of anglers have, drifting baits out, caught Marlin. And I've also heard of small Black Marlin being taken by fly anglers fishing inshore in very shallow water, but this is the first Swordfish I've ever heard of taken from the shore. How about you? Has anyone heard of such a capture before?
