Weekly Fishing Report by “Picante Sportfishing” January 10th. to January 16th. 2011

  • Our report is compiled from the catches of our fleet.

We’ll update the report each week.

A mixed bag is the best way to describe the action last week. With Striped Marlin and Yellowfin Tuna providing the action offshore and Yellowtail and Sierra Mackerel bending rods inshore, our clients had a lot to smile about.

On January 11th. the folks from United Brands Group spent the day on our great 35’ Cabo Flybridge “Picante Dream” with Captain Pablo “Palin” Cesena at the helm and deckhand Captain David working the cockpit. The guys found the porpoise and the Yellowfin Tuna did not disappoint. They were able to boat 11 of these hard fighting and great

tasting fish along with releasing a nice Striped Marlin.

Stephen Putney and his family chartered our 29’ Blackfin “Picante 29” to see if they could find the fish. Captain Alex Collins and deckhand “Charro” tossed bait to many Striped Marlin and finally found a hungry fish on January 12th. They also boated 2 nice Yellowfin Tuna that were

enjoyed by the Putneys at a local restaurant. Nothing better than fresh tuna sushi.

Walk ins are always welcome here at Picante and on January 13th. Mr. Sullivan and his family spent the day on our fast 32’ Cabo Flybridge “Picante Express” with Captain Antonio “Nino” Romero at the controls and deckhand Luis working the pit. These folks had a lot of fun releasing their first 2 Striped Marlin. This won’t be their last trip to our desert paradise here at Lands End.

January 16th. proved productive for our old friend Mr. Driscoll and his family. Again they made the trip to chase the fish around the Baja peninsula. They spent the day on our great 45’ Cabo Express “CHAOS” with Captain Ivan Gomez at the helm. They released 2 Striped Marlin and boated 2 Yellowfin Tuna.
