Just thought some of you might be interested in this link of a big Thresher Shark caught earlier this month off Hawaii. There're also some pictures of the fish.
Even though it's well in excess of the current world record it was fought by several different anglers so cannot, under IGFA rules, be claimed.
Just one last point you'll notice that the captain's name is Marlin Parker. Yes that really is his name! His father George who was also a big game skipper christened him with that name. It's over 20 years since I fished in Hawaii but I did get to fish with both of them in one of the HIBT tournaments and also, on a practice day, with Marlin's brother Randy.
