The Ninth Annual Flor de Cana Tournament at Puerto Puesta del Sol, Nicaragua starts on Thursday (12th) with a Captains Meeting. Fishing days are Friday & Saturday (13th & 14th). Awards ceremony is Saturday night after final day of fishing.
Casa Vieja Lodge has sent over two boats: The "Rum Line" with Capt. Chris Sheeder trolled the 230nm from home base in Guatemala to the resort complex checking out the route for the next boat. It's been raining a lot in Guatemala and all along the Pacific corridor between the several countries so the wise choice was going slow to avoid the numerous logs and turtles along the way.
Yesterday, the "Rum Line" raised 21 sails, released 17 and one blue marlin - est 250-lbs.
Today the "Pelagian" with Capt. Ron Hamlin arrives hoping to make a big score with this prestigious tournament grouping of the finest gameboats in the Americas.
